Dear Friends:

We are very excited to be going to this historical game.  Unfortunately, many among us, who have been brought up here, are unaware of the great political weight of this game and its relative benefits to the Islamic Government.

On your way to the Rose Bowl and while there, please remember that the Iranian athletes and team are different from the Islamic Regime. This is The same Regime that publicly stoned some people, killed others for the practice of their religion or beliefs, and yet arrested and tortured others for the exercise and practice of the same rights which are guaranteed to us in this country under the constitution, such as the Freedom of Speech, Freedom of Association and Freedom of Religion. This is the same regime which discriminates against women and sends young children to the front of the line as mine sweeps, the same regime that alienated many of us, and forced us into foreign repatriation.

In light of these facts, please remember: SUPPORT THE TEAM BUT NOT THE GOVERNMENT.

This is how:

1- Do not touch or wave the Islamic Republic flag. Our national flag is the one without the Islamic Republic emblem (LOGO). There is a flag available that is Iranian on one side and American on the other. Use them with pride. This shows that you love your motherland (not the regime) as well as the host country that gave you a second home so generously.

2- When the American national anthem is played, please rise and pay respect. When the Islamic Republic anthem is played, sit down and do not move or make any remarks.

3- At the end, everybody rise and together sing "EY IRAN EY MARZ-E-POR GOHAR."
 
 

Show the world and the Government of Iran that you have not forgotten your homeland, and yet have not forgiven the barbaric Regime.  Show the World that while you may be young, you have enough care and compassion to know that years of tyranny cannot be whitewashed with a soccer game and more importantly, show that you are politically aware.

Together we stand, divided we fall. It is time to stand up together and support our team and not the regime.
